Post Production 3 - Feature Article

My intent with the editing of this page was to really edit the typography a lot more with the text tool and manipulate it into looking a lot more like what a fashion magazine looks. The Background was what I spent most of my time on to make it really compliment the font I'm using, and allow it to not distract but add to the page. I distorted the title a lot more this time around with a threshold and motion blur to really give it a mayhem grudge effect while keeping it legible. I'm also going to include an invitation to a release party for the magazine below the page as a part of my marketing tool. At the release party I would plan on introducing the live models and having moments for people to raffle and win clothing alongside a chance to be featured in the next issue as a model with a random drawing of a name from a card attached to the inside of magazine that you would have to mail in.

My intent with this page was to spice it up with lots of visual effects and more boxes with images of the clothing. I'm going to heavily focus on the idea of "more mayhem" as suggested by my classmates but still keep it to be welcoming and attract the attention of the people holding the magazine. I added page numbers with the text tool in he bottom left and played a lot with motion blurs and transparencies of the pictures when placing them inside the boxes.

Post Production 1 - Table of Contents

I finally began my post production of my magazine and I'm happy to say all the criticism from my classmates did not go to waste. I began by completely revamping my table of contents to a whole new level. I took the advice of "more mayhem" to a whole new perspective and I'm very happy with how this turned out. I included a picture of an old camera I had destroyed for parts and used the shattered glass as the background which has nice sleek shine to it  that adds a lot to the page. I also included a new logo i made a couple weeks ago and blurred it out a bit to make the page appear less static and really seem in motion with the entire scene I wanted to create. I also added text boxes to make them more rectangular and split them into boxes of uneven proportions to make it seem also off kilter and really keep your eyes moving across the page. Overall, I'm very happy with how this turned out and I'm extremely excited  continue working on the rest of my project.

Peer Review

This week and last week we all presented our portfolio projects to one another and gave each other feedback on what we saw fit to criticize. I was a little upset with my results but I have some work to do with mine to fully fix it. but mainly along my table of contents. I have to retouch it a lot and revise the background and layout of the page. I'm going to include a list below of all my criticism from class mates so i can discus how I plan to fix it.  One issue was my use of color on my fonts where people suggested I should switch to black text and lighten my pages a bit. On the same note about typography people suggested i use text boxes to make text stand out and Appear more prominent so i plan to include them with my matching colors for the magazine. Thankfully, I did now receive any complaints on my font choice because i enjoy my font and also will continue to use it. My table of contents lacks color as well as more pages and organization. I'm going to use a more chaoti...
